CIMS Weekly Update, 9/23/18

Good evening, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.

We’d like to thank students, families, and teachers for the support during the annual chocolate sale.  Students who earned prizes will be receiving them this week. Also, we’d like to thank the entire CIMS community for participation in our Peace Summit and kick-off to our Second Step lessons.

As part of the No Bully program, Second Step will be implemented in all grades this week. Family letters will also be sent home. An access code is provided for the program to get information about what your student is learning. Please watch for weekly family activities as homework.  The first family letters are also attached to the email version of this message.

Our 8th grade students have the opportunity to take the SAT this year. The test date is December 1st and the online registration deadline is October 19th. If you would like your 8th grade student to take the SAT this year, please contact Mrs. Bratina for more information.

Finally, we’d like to remind all students and families that we are at the midpoint of the first quarter and procedures, routines, and classroom assessments are well underway.  Please be sure to be asking your students for their weekly ATL sheets and signing them. Along with checking the IC Parent Portal, this is one of the best ways to help your child reflect on progress, advocate for support, and grow as an independent learner.

Let’s end this last week of September with a 95% or better attendance rate.

That concludes our announcements.  Have a great evening.
