Weekly Update 12/3/17

posted Dec 2, 2017, 1:57 PM by Ryan Masciotra
Good evening, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.

Thank you to the CIMS community for your support of the 2nd annual PTO Holiday Market.  We had a great number of vendors and shoppers.

This week, we are collecting new, unwrapped toys for a toy drive in conjunction with East High School.  We are also collecting unopened hygiene products, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, etc.  These items will be donated to those in need for the holiday season.

On Tuesday, we will have our monthly PTO meeting in the library at 6pm.  Immediately following that meeting, we will a community meeting to give an update to our play yard initiative.

On Wednesday, there is a band and string orchestra performance at 6pm in the auditorium.  All are welcome.  Performers need to report to room 125, at 5:30 PM.  Formal Uniform Required, no sweater vests.

7th and 8th grade Drama students that are going on the Junior Thespian Field trip to Denver need to be on the bus by 7am on Thursday, December 7th. Students may wear jeans and club shirts and should dress appropriate for any weather. Students need to bring a lunch or money for lunch. We will return around 5:30. Feel free to contact Mrs Hutchins with further questions.

On Saturday, CIMS will host the annual Science Fair for all middle school students.  Students should arrive at their scheduled time for judging with school uniforms.

This Saturday, December 9th is the annual book fair and gift wrapping at Barnes and Noblel from 9am to 9pm. Several groups of students will be performing throughout the day, so bring friends and family to enjoy the amazing work of our students, have a treat from the cafe and get some shopping done while supporting our 6th grade Travelers for their Washington DC trip. The DC Travelers will provide gift wrapping for a small donation. 10 % of any purchases using the Corwin code come back to the travelers to help pay for their trip. We look forward to seeing you there.  For any 6th graders interested in traveling to Washington DC in June, there is still time to register for our trip. Please contact Mrs. Hutchins if you are interested in going with us.

Just a reminder that all Girl softball players need to turn in their uniforms. Fines will be assessed for any Softball uniforms not turned in by Friday December 8th.

We would like to recognize Tameler Law Firm, Turner Family, and Pace Family for their Gold Level Sponsorships of the Park and Play Yard Initiative.  We are in the process of raising just over $27,000 in order to qualify for an upcoming grant and we appreciate the support of the CIMS community to make this happen.  If you or someone you know would like to donate, please call the main office.

Thank you and have a great evening.
