Weekly Update 11/5/17

posted Nov 3, 2017, 2:24 PM by Ryan Masciotra

Good evening, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.

We hope that everyone enjoyed the fall break and is rested for a busy return into November.  We also hope that all families remembered to fall back their clocks this weekend.

Students will return tomorrow, Monday, and it will be a blue day for middle school students.  Monday also kicks off our annual food drive to  benefit Tom and Louis Cupboard through November 16th. A reward will be given to the grade level that brings in the most food. Thank you in advance for your generous participation.

On Tuesday, November 7th, our PTO meeting will take place at 6pm in the media center.  This is a great way to get involved in our school and receive volunteer hours.

On Thursday, November 9th, we will have make-up pictures for students.  Order forms can be picked up in the main office.

On Friday, we will host our October Student Recognition Breakfast in the media center at 7:30am.  It is also the November jeans day.  Students may wear jeans for $1.  All proceeds support PTO.  On Friday, we will also host a fall assembly to recognize students for their accomplishments.

Just a reminder to all parents and students of our uniform guidelines are we return from fall break. Shorts are not to be worn. If girls choose to wear skirts, tights must be worn underneath. Boots may be worn as long as the pant leg can go over and cover the boot. Joggers, leggings, tight/skinny pants are not allowed. We appreciate your help in ensuring students are in uniform compliance.

6th graders are reminded to bring their ticket order form and $6.00 for the field trip to see Wonder on Friday, November 17th.  All tickets must be purchased in advance.  A permission slip will be sent home on Monday.

Are you planning to ride the Riverwalk boat this holiday season?  If so, purchase your tickets through CIMS and you’ll also receive a hot chocolate on your ride.  Proceeds will go towards the CIMS Park and Play Yard Initiative.  More information is attached the email version of this message.

Finally, we would like to recognize Southern Colorado Radiologists and Fekete Homes for their Silver Level Sponsorship and Turner Roofing, State Farm Insurance - Melissa DeAngelo, and Flow Right Plumbing and Heating for their Gold Level Sponsorships of the Park and Play Yard Initiative.  We are in the process of raising just over $27,000 in order to qualify for an upcoming grant and we appreciate the support of the CIMS community to make this happen.  If you or someone you know would like to donate, please see the sponsor form in the email version of this message.

Thank you and have a great evening.
