Weekly Update 10/8/17

posted Oct 8, 2017, 9:56 AM by Ryan Masciotra

Good evening, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with your weekly update.

We would like to thank students and families for participating in service activities over the weekend and for contributing to Penny Wars over the last several weeks.  We had great competition and winners will be announced tomorrow.

On Friday, students received a flier for fall intersession, information regarding parent volunteer hours, and overdue letters from the library if applicable.  Intersession registration forms can be filled out in the main office.   Additionally, please be aware that we have high use on popular texts in the library and students are accruing late fees for each day that overdue items are not turned in.

On Tuesday, we will hold our daytime sports camps ran by Antwon Burton.  We are extending the deadline for permission slips to Monday, October 6th.  Students who are participating can wear a sports-related shirt or jersey and should wear shorts and athletic shoes for the day.  Students that are not participating can still wear a sports jersey for $1, but will be in a study hall during the camp.

On Tuesday evening, we will hold an important community informational night for the CIMS playground initiative.  We encourage all families and community members to join us as we share details about the playground initiative, show concept designs, give opportunities to vote on favorite features, and raffle some great items.

On Friday, we will host a movie night for PYP students from 6:30-8:30pm.  Students can come wearing comfortable clothing and Halloween attire and enjoy Goosebumps or Hocus Pocus with friends and families.  Concessions, including meal deals, will be available.

The Scholastic Book Fair is Back!
Beginning October 9th until October 19th, the Scholastic Book Fair will be open during school hours and during parent teacher conferences.  The Scholastic Book Fair is here to support the students reading and the funds will go to increase selection in the school’s Media Center.  We hope to see you there!

Good luck to the CIMS athletes in playoffs this week!  We hope everyone has a great night!
