Weekly Update - August 26, 2018

Good evening, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.

We’d like to start by thanking families, students, and staff for a very smooth opening to the new school year.  We enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to a full week on a regular schedule.

Monday, is a casual uniform day for all students.  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are formal uniform days for all students.  To help staff and students remain focused on our new schedule, we are encouraging each grade to maintain an attendance rate of 95% or better.  Each grade level that does so in the month of August will earn a reward dress day in September.  As of today, grades 4, 5, 6, and 8 are all above 95%.

Fall sports are beginning.  Soccer is practicing on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45 to 6:15pm.  And, come support our JV volleyball team on Wednesday in Beulah at 4:45pm.

We’d like to give a few reminders as head into the week.  The staff parking lot and the front of the school on Lakeview are not appropriate locations for dropping off and picking up students.  There is a lot of pedestrian traffic in these areas and cars stopping and driving through is a safety concern.  Please use a side street off of Lakeview or the loop.  Also, please use care when parking in front of neighboring homes so that they maintain access to their driveways during high traffic times.

Finally, we’d like to share our excitement with you as the CIMS Park and Play Yard construction has finally begun!  You will notice construction fencing up to the west of the drop off loop.  Stay tuned for more progress!

A copy of this message and the parent night video from Thursday are available on our website.  That concludes our announcements.  Have a great night.
