CIMS Weekly Update, 9/1/19

Good afternoon, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.

On Monday, there is no school, in observance of Labor Day.

On Tuesday, we are kicking off our read-a-thon.  Students and teachers will begin reading Three Pennies, our school-wide novel, and students can track minutes read and sponsorships to be eligible for prizes.  The read-a-thon will run through next Thursday, September 12th and we will host a visit from the author of Three Pennies at the end of October.

On Wednesday, there are a variety of after school events.
  • Interact Club will meet at 4pm in room 129.
  • CIMS Volleyball plays at Beulah and Swallows beginning at 4:30pm.
  • CIMS Softball plays at Runyon at 5pm.
  • The first PTO meeting of the year is at 6pm in the CIMS Media Center.  All attendees receive two hours of volunteering for attending.

Thursday is our September jeans day.  Students can wear blue or black jeans for $1 with their casual/spirit shirts.  All proceeds support the CIMS PTO and student-driven initiatives.

Also, our first round of after school enrichment begins this week.  Registration forms are attached to the email version of this message and are in the main office.  And, in honor of our read-a-thon, we’re looking for the newest design for our Million Word Club t-shirt.  The contest form will be available for students on Tuesday and is also attached to the email version of this message.

That concludes our announcements.  Enjoy the remainder of your long weekend.
