CIMS Weekly Update, 3/3/19

Good evening, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.

A huge shout out goes to 4th grade for their wonderful performance of Salute to Colorado.

On Monday, Ms. Nichols and Ms. Barger’s classes go to Beulah.  Weather is permitting, of course.

On Tuesday, Mr. Hutchins and Mrs. Jackson-Medrano’s classes go to Beulah.

On Tuesday evening, we will hold a parent meeting for all 5th grade families regarding the upcoming 5th Grade Exhibition at 5pm in the auditorium.  We encourage all families to attend.  Then, PTO will meet in the media center at 6pm.

Any 6th through 8th Grade student interested in participating in soccer, there will be practice at Corwin in the gym on Tuesdays from 6:30PM to 8:30PM.

On Wednesday, Mr. Fillmore and Ms. Stilson would like to invite you to your child's dance performance for Physical Education. Monday and Wednesday PE classes will perform their routines on Wednesday March 6th during their normal class time. Tuesday and Thursday PE classes will perform their routines on Thursday March 7th during their normal class time.

Also on Wednesday, 8th graders will be completing high school scheduling with high school counselors.  Specific information went home with students.

The 5th grade play, "We the People" is on Wednesday at 6pm. Students were given information on Thursday regarding costumes and times. All 5th graders need to be in the media center at 5:45 and doors will be opened to the auditorium at 5:30.

There will be a meeting on Thursday evening at 6pm for 6th and 7th grade Drama and Music students interested in traveling to New York Spring 2020. Come hear about the wonderful possibilities!  We still have room on the 2019 Washington, DC trip. Please contact Mrs. Hutchins for further information!

The Scholastic Book Fair is on its way!  Our Online Fair will be open for purchases March 11th and will run until March 31st.  Our Onsite Fair will run the week before and after Spring Break, March 11th through the 14th and again on March 25th through 28th. All proceeds go towards supporting our School Library.

Finally, an important message to all parents: On Monday all student will be given a letter on bright orange paper. The letter is asking permission for your student to take a short survey about bullying in our school. It is crucial that you sign giving permission and return the letter back to school on Tuesday and no later than Wednesday. We need a certain percentage returned in order to conduct the survey which is scheduled for Monday, March 11th. The information gathered from the survey is vital to the success of our No Bully program.  We are asking parents to take the same survey. The link to this survey is on the Corwin web page. The link will be open Monday, and will be open only through March 11th. The code for PYP parents is 854596. The code for MYP parents is 965514. These codes are also included in the orange letter.  Those codes again are: for PYP parents 854596 and for MYP parents 965514.  The letter is also attached to the email version of this message.  Thank you so much for your help as together we continue our journey to support a positive culture at CIMS.

That concludes our announcements.  Have a great evening.
