CIMS Weekly Update, 11/4/18

Good evening, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.

We have many events in the next two weeks as we approach our first holiday break.  First, we’d like to remind families that we are well into second quarter and we encourage you to review your child’s ATL sheet each week in order to stay up to date on your student’s progress.

All week, we will continue collecting items for the annual food drive with Tom and Louie’s cupboard.  Our goal is two tons of food, which is roughly five pounds per student.  Please send in your items no later than Wednesday, November 7th.

On Tuesday, there will be a School Accountability Meeting at 5pm and a PTO meeting at 6pm in the Media Center.

6th grade informances are on Monday and Tuesday at 10:30 in the auditorium.

Volleyball players who have not turned in their uniforms will be charged if not turned in by Wednesday, November 7th.

Thursday is picture retake day.  And, on Thursday night, we will hold our PYP Movie Night from 6-8pm.  All elementary students and families are welcome to attend.  Movies are free and concessions will be open.

There is still room for 6th grade students to go to Washington DC in June. We have lots of opportunities for fundraising to help with students travel. Please contact Mrs. Hutchins for more information.

Finally, there are several important announcements for upcoming drama performances.

4th grade parents, several of the Greek Myth plays will be performed at the FIMS International Festival on Friday, November 9th. Students who are in the plays were given a permission form with the time of the play. Students need to be in the Gym in costume 15 minutes before their performance time. Please sign and return the forms with your students on Monday.

Drama Troupe students will perform The Legend of Sleepy Hollow a 5:15 in the gym of Fountain International Magnet School. All troupe members need to attend. They may come for their performance or they may stay and enjoy the activities with parental supervision for the full time. Students need to be in costume, in the gym at 5:00.

Drama Parents, the drama students will participate with the music department and student council in the Parade of Lights on November 24th. Drama will have an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 7th at 5:00 in the drama room for parents who want additional information. Parent volunteer hours can be gained for helping with this event.

That concludes our announcements.  Have a great evening.
