CIMS Weekly Update, 10-28-18

posted Oct 28, 2018, 7:35 AM by Ryan Masciotra

Good evening, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.

We would like to thank PTO, parent volunteers, staff and students from CIMS and FIMS for making the first annual CIMSTober Fest a huge success.  We look forward to more events in the future.

The fall book fair is still open all week from 7:30am to 4:30pm in the Media Center.

Wednesday is Halloween.  It will be a free jeans and Halloween shirt day for staff and students; however, it will be a regular instructional day.  Specific grade levels may be holding Very Special Activities on this day, but costumes, hair, face and other accessories are not permitted.

There is still time to bring in gently used coats and socks for our October drives.  Additionally, we are now accepting non-perishable items for our annual food drive, in conjunction with East High School and Tom and Louie’s Cupboard.  Student council will be giving prizes to the classes who the collect the most items. All items are due next Thursday, November 8th.

We have a few announcements specific to elementary students as well:

PYP parents we are looking for 40 students who would like to participate in the Pride and Patriotism Concert at Memorial Hall on November 12th. Please refer to the flyer sent home with your student this week for further details.

Several 4th grade students have been invited to perform their Greek Myths at the FIMS International Festival on November 9th. Please watch for more information on this next week from your 4th grader.

Finally, save the date for CIMS PYP 2nd annual movie night on Thursday  Nov. 8 from 6-8 pm. 2 movies will be shown. Admission will be free with concessions available. Look for more information to come home this week.

That concludes our announcements.  Have a great evening.
