CIMS Weekly Update, 10-14-18

Good evening, Corwin International families.  This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.

Thanks to Penny Wars, we earned over $1000 for the CIMS Media Center!  The winners is each grade are Schwager in 4th, Barger in 5th, Humphrey in 6th, Frost in 7th and Rivera in 8th.

As the weather changes have quickly taken place, we’d like to remind all students and families that on red flag days, students will remain indoors for morning line-up and sometimes again for recess, depending on the weather.  After breakfast, middle school students should report to the auxiliary gym and elementary students should report to the auditorium. Red flag days are identified with red signs on the fence near the loop and on each of the exterior entrance doors.  Also, students will not be permitted to wear shorts after this week.

Thursday is the last day of first quarter.  Report cards will be distributed at conferences next week.  If you still need to schedule a time, please refer to your child’s teacher in elementary or the links on our website for middle school.

All Corwin families are invited to attend the community Peace Summit scheduled for Saturday, October 20 from 10am until 1pm at the Southwest Motors event center Colorado State Fair grounds.  We hope to see you there!

The Fall Scholastic Book Fair is on its way! And to get us started we have the online fair which will be open for purchases starting October 12th until November 1st.  All books ordered ship free to the school at the end of the fair and the proceeds benefit the onsite book fair. Visit Scholastic.com/Bookfairs to find our fair!

We are still collecting coats and socks for the month of October.

Finally, save the date for Friday, October 26th!  We hope to see you all at the first annual CIMSTober Fest from 5:30 to 7:30pm at CIMS.  We’ll have a haunted house, costume contest and more. If you’re interested in entering the costume contest, a sign up form will be going home this week.

That concludes our announcements.  Have a great evening.
