Greeting Cyclones! This is Mrs. Shue with your weekly update!

We want to invite parents in celebrating our school's 2013 TCAP results. Help us to congratulate CIMS 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade students and teachers on scoring highest in Pueblo City Schools in all subjects by liking this information on Face Book. Corwin students scored top scores in District 60 for 13 of 17 TCAP assessments. CIMS also scored in the top three in Pueblo County for 15 of 17 TCAP assessment including D60, D70, and charter schools. CIMS is planning a school wide celebration in the upcoming weeks in honor of the hard work of our students and teachers.

Middle School Athletics practice schedules can be found on the school FB page! Game and meet schedules will be posted on the school website as they are available.

We want to remind parents that traffic will always be a challenge. Please follow all traffic rules. Parents who follow traffic rules, will have children who do the same when they are old enough to drive. Let's teach our kids to be safe by setting the best possible example.

We encourage parents in 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th grade to inspect computers but this is best done when school is not in session. In order to accommodate parents we are adding additional times for 7th and 8th grade parents on Monday night after school. The morning times discussed at parents night are proving to be over crowded and not efficient. So we will not be do any more morning inspections. Instead on Monday night between 5:00 PM and 7pm CIMS will host the final night for 7th and 8th grade parents to inspect computers. After Monday night the school will assume that parents are foregoing inspection and will rely on the school to predetermine any preexisting conditions for his or her child's computer.

Students in 4th and 5th grade can make arrangements with their child's classroom teacher if they still want to preview a computer. 6th graders will get new Chrome-books in a few weeks.

In all cases, computers cannot be previewed during class time. All staff are busy teaching during the school day, but fees can be paid between 7:45 a.m. And 3:45 PM. Monday through Thursday.

This week the Corwin Office will be closing at 3:00 p.m. Also parents should be aware that the door buzzer and the CiMS office phones are only manned between 7:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. We have two secretaries to answer phones so messages for last minute transportation changes can be difficult to deliver. We will make every effort to answer your call, but our last message delivery to classrooms goes out at 2:30p.m. We are almost certain to deliver messages to students that arrive prior to 2:30p.m. Please help us to help you by calling in early.

Starting on Monday, students in middle school will not be allowed to charge lunches. The district policy requires that students in 6th grade or higher not be allowed to charge. Please send a lunch with your child if you have a negative balance. Nutrition services can help those who need assistance, but no charging will be allowed starting tomorrow.
