Greetings Corwin International, this is Mrs. Shue with your weekly update. Here is what is happening:
I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to a new school year. Corwin International is authorized for both PYP and MYP programmes by the International Baccalaureate World Organization, and is the recipient of both State and National Awards for teaching innovation and excellence. We are both excited to meet our new students and welcome back our returning students. This year we will welcome back the IB organization for our scheduled review in November, continue on as a State and “National School To Watch”, and embark upon our newest Student Ambassadors Program. Please remember to access our school website and FB page for the most updated school information. We appreciate your diligence in doing so as it helps us to manage call volume in the office if you check these locations first before calling the office.
Tomorrow is our first day of school. Students should report to the courtyard at the back of the Corwin campus. The entrance bell will ring at 7:55 a.m. so students should be in line prior to 7:55.
Bus schedules have been posted on the CIMS web page.
Parents we know that traffic will be a concern and encourage you to plan ahead and leave as much time as possible for parking and getting everyone started on the first day. We know that several parents are planning on helping with cross walk. We can never have too many helpers for this sort of volunteer activity and encourage your help with cross walk this week and beyond.
Our parent night activities are scheduled and posted on the website. We will provide parent volunteer information at this night as well.
Regarding Computer Usage and Documents: Parents of 4th and 5th graders will be able to view their child’s computers during parent night this Tuesday. 6th grade students will be getting new Chromebook units in a few weeks, but we will take care of documents this week in preparation. Parents of 7th and 8th graders have already had designated times for previewing and checking out computers. Additional times for 7th and 8th graders will be announced after parent nights on Wednesday. All students will be required to complete usage paperwork prior to being able to check out his or her computer unit.
This process will be clarified at parent nights. In order to start our school year, we encourage parents to wait until after parent nights to inquire about computers.
