This is a weekly Update for Corwin International Magnet School Families.

We are so excited to get back to school and meet with our amazing Corwin International Magnet School Cyclones!  Each day our excitement grows and we can hardly wait to see our fantastic students and their families.

We want to encourage everyone to vote for Corwin International in the Best of Pueblo competition with the Pueblo Chieftain.  You can find the link to this site on our Facebook page!  Corwin IMS students will win two free dress days in November if CIMS is named a winner.  Tonight, July 30th is the last day to vote so cast your votes as many times as possible before the contest ends!  Parents and students should vote! You can vote at

The Corwin Office will be open starting on August 1st between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

As you are shopping for school clothes, please keep a few things in mind.  The uniform requirements are on our website, a brochure was sent home with each child either at new parent orientation, or in the summer work packet.

In grades where computers are carried from class to class, a computer ready back pack, or a padded sleeve for protection is required.  4th and 5th grade students will not need to carry computers and therefore only need a regular back pack.  6th graders will be getting new smaller lighter technology in September and can get by with a smaller padded sleeve.  6th grade parents should wait until after parent night to purchase this school supply.

Finally, Corwin International makes every effort to place students in the optimal learning environments.  This is proven in our results and student achievement.  This is done with scientific methods and as a result we find schedule changes dilute this practice and are typically not in the best interest of the learning environment. In some cases the availability of classes is also a factor. Thank you for understanding this building practice and honoring our diligence and attention to placing students in the best possible situations with the available school resources.

Corwin will be offering girls volleyball and softball in the Fall for middle school students.  If you plan to tryout, more information will be available next week.  Elementary students can access activities through the YMCA and other local organizations.
