Weekly Update:

The spring talent and variety show was a great success.  We want to thank this amazing group of students for their talent and dedication.  The talent show and pie auction raised more than $800 for music programs and PTO.  Thank you to everyone who attended and donated!!

PTO Meeting at 7p.m. on Tuesday.  We will be having elections at this event.

At the start of the school year, we asked the Corwin Community to vote for CIMS in the Pueblo’s Best Competition online.  We one the Gold category in this prestigious competition and students were promised a day to wear their own clothes to school.  Well tomorrow Monday June 2nd is that day.  All students at CIMS may wear their own SCHOOL APPROPRIATE clothes tomorrow.  This means safe shoes (no flip flops or slippers).  It is not a pajama day or crazy swimsuit day.  Please make sure that your clothes are not too short, or revealing.  Also messages on shirts should be positive and school appropriate.  Any student who has a wear your own clothes pass from the pie auction can save it, and use it on another day.  There is no charge for this day.

All online yearbook orders have been submitted. Thank you to all the parents that made this new ordering system successful. If you were unable to order your student a yearbook we will have SOME extra yearbooks for sale on yearbook signing day. Please send your child with $30 and they can purchase a yearbook on Friday, June 6th once yearbook signing begins. Extra yearbooks are limited, however we will NOT be taking any reservations for extra yearbooks. If you have additional questions please email Ms. Purcell.     Again, students and parents, if you did not order your yearbook for this year there will be SOME extra yearbooks available for purchase.   Unfortunately no yearbook payments will be accepted at this time, please do not send your child with money until Friday June 6th.   Students may purchase their yearbooks then on a first come, first serve basis for thirty dollars on Friday, June 6th once yearbook signing begins.

PYP and 8th grade Field Days are this week. Please contact Mr. Salazar or Mrs. Garcia and sign up on Parent Booker if you can help.

If you need volunteer hours, we can use your help with several activities including set up and tear down for the 8th grade dance this Wednesday, support for field days, set up and tear down of decorations for 8th grade continuum.

Volunteer hours can be earned in bulk by supporting some end of spring cleaning at CIMS.  We are going to some remodeling at CIMS.  A little bit of painting, moving of books from our storage areas, and a fresh new look in our soon to be established Inquiry Lab means that we need volunteers.  If you would like to help with this type of work, we will be working all day on June 11th

Students please remember if you are eligible for the 8th grade VSA to turn in your permission slip and $30.00 to your Advisory teacher by Tuesday at the very latest. Again congratulations for achieving this very special activity!

This is a reminder that there will be no after school help in Room 118 for the rest of the school year. Thank you for participating and see you next school year!

There is no school for 8th grade students on Monday June 9th and school will dismiss at 1:30p.m. and this is our last day of school.
