Greetings Corwin International Families!

Let’s Move!! On Saturday, April 19th come enjoy a day full of fun activities with CSU-Pueblo students. This event is absolutely FREE and will include Yoga, Rock Wall, Rugby, Golf, Volleyball, Field Hockey and many more. Registration is from 8-9 AM in the Massari Arena. Mr. Salazar will be passing out waiver forms for the event to those who are interested. If you need more info please contact Mr Salazar.  Parents who gather groups of students to represent CIMS at this event can count the hours toward parent volunteer requirements.

A new era of testing has begun in our nation and in the state of Colorado.  The days of TCAP are no more but new acronyms are coming for the next generation of assessments.  Tomorrow the window for state testing in social studies and science begins.  Starting with this assessment, all state testing will be administered on computers. This week CIMS teachers will be helping students get used to testing on technology devices and getting ready for these new assessments.  Starting on Tuesday, April 22nd students will begin testing.  4th and 7th graders will take social studies tests, and 5th and 8th graders will take science tests.  6th grade will not test in these subjects.  We will administer tests from April 22nd – April 24th.  The acronym for these tests is CMASSS.  Colorado Measures of Academic Success: Science and Social Studies.  These tests will be used to rank all schools on the Colorado School Performance Framework. We know our students will do well on these assessments and we appreciate your support by getting kids a good night’s sleep and providing a good breakfast.  PYP students will test in the morning and MYP students will test after lunch.

The media center will have summer reading books still available for sale this week only. If you have not bought your summer reading book, please stop buy the media and purchase your copy of the specific grade level book to read.

Attention 8th grade parents! Any parents interested in helping with the 8th grade continuum is welcome to attend the next planning meeting Wednesday in the CIMS media center at 6:00 pm.

Parents can nominate individuals for PTO Offices online.  Please keep in mind that one year of experience and regular attendance at CIMS PTO meetings is preferred.
