Greetings Corwin International Families!

The Hoops Magnet Madness Basketball Tournament was a tremendous success.  A special thank you goes out to all the parents, students, teachers and other family members who made this event a success.  These events can only happen with your help and support. Please remember that you still need to log your hours in Parent Booker so you get credit for your tremendous efforts.  Students can log their service on logs that are available from your advisory teacher.  It is heart warming to see the Corwin International community come together to put on a community event of this size.  It isn’t easy and people came out in numbers.  At times we had people doubled up because we had extra helpers.  Thank you!  Thank you!

We will be changing up our schedule for the next three days.  In order to address some specific mathematics strands that have been identified for each grade level, we will modify the daily schedule for three days to give all students some additional time and instruction on targeted learning.  Each student has access to at least two subjects of Study Island.  We want parents to know that students should master all subject strands by the end of the school year.  We are working with students on these strands at school and you can help to support your child by supporting Study Island progress at home.  Consider having your child log onto this or her Study Island Account from home and show you his or her progress in math and reading.  5th and 8th graders also have science.  At this point in the year, students should have earned 50% of the blue ribbons.  Each Blue Ribbon in Study Island represents an essential learning that is critical to the completion and mastery of the grade level learning.

Again, thank you so much to everyone who volunteered this weekend.  A special shout out goes to our PTO officers Danielle Heart and Marlo Brumbaugh who spent all three days doing this tournament.
