Greetings Corwin International Families, this is Mrs. Shue, and here is your weekly update!

Our IB visit last week was a great success. We were given very positive feedback from the visiting team. We will be hearing back for the final results in about six months.  In addition we will continue to move forward with our PYP and MYP programs.

Monday is picture retake day. Students who were absent or need retakes will do so in the morning tomorrow(11/11).

Attention 8th grade families - we are able to extend the due date for ACT registration. If you are still interested in having your student take the ACT in February, please have your registration to the office by Friday. If you have any questions or need a registration form, please call.  We cannot emphasize enough the advantages for 8th graders to participate in this activity.  This has huge positive implications for college acceptance.  By participating in the ACT your child will then be associated with the Center for Bright Kids.  As a result your child will be included in mailings and opportunities shared by colleges and universities.  Information about scholarships, official school visits, and other college admissions information will be made available to students as they get closer to high school graduation.

Corwin will be participating in a school-wide food drive through November 14.Please send in items this week.  All food will benefit Tom and Lois's Cupboard.

I want to personally thank our school PTO for their incredible support for our school.  Most recently our PTO has donated a Chromebook cart 300 Chromebook cases for all of the new devices that have been purchased by the school, PTO and by our school district.  In order for our PTO to continue to support Corwin in this way, parent participation in PTO is critical.  Parent volunteerism, parent support of fundraisers, and your contributions help these contributions to continue.  We will need school wide support of our upcoming annual basketball tournament in January.  In addition, we need parents to coordinate several different areas of the tournament.  Please look for these volunteer opportunities on Parent Booker.

Rake Up Pueblo will be held on Saturday, November 16th. Please help rake up yards for our Senior Citizens. Corwin International has several teams signed up to participate.  Way to represent!
