Weekly Update 10/13/13

Greetings Corwin International Families, this is Mrs. Shue, and here is your weekly update!

Please help PTO with the following activities:

Movie Day will be held on Friday, October 18th. Volunteer opportunities have been posted in Parent Booker. A flyer will come home with your child this week with more details about the event.

 Rake Up Pueblo will be held on Saturday, November 16th. Please help rake up yards for our Senior Citizens. This event will last from 8am to 12pm. Participants should bring a rake, bottle of water, and gloves. SRDA will supply all the bags. All participants will also receive a free Rake Up Pueblo t-shirt. Students are encouraged to help and may utilize the hours towards their community service requirement. This opportunity has also been posted in Parent Booker.

A reminder to our parents of 8th grade students - Additional information regarding the ACT will be sent home with students this week. Please review it and plan to return the completed application to Mrs. Bratina by November 8th. We encourage all of our 8th grade students to participate in the ACT in February.

We have a few students that still have incomplete enrollment card data. If you have been receiving school messengers or have received a personal call please come to the office and take care of the documents needed this week.

Monday all students non compliant with immunizations will receive a pink document indicating specific immunizations we do not have record of in the office. If your student has an appointment please call Mrs. Matuzak with the date and time of the appointment. If you have the documentation of the immunizations please bring this to the office. We will be glad to make a copy and update your students records. It is mandatory CIMS have all immunizations or appointments documented by Thursday, October 17. 

5th graders, please remember your T-shirt and rag for our mask making on Monday.

Please join us for the 1st annual Corwin Zombie Crawl Saturday Oct 19th. PYP Course starts at 10:00 AM and goes to Noon. MYP Course starts at 1:00 PM and goes until 3:00 PM. Cost is 6$ per participant. Proceeds from this event will go to assisting the disabled community. Events will be in an obstacle course style,There will be lots of parent volunteer opportunities available to include some times not usually available, as well as some activities that can be completed at home.
Please ensure that the clothes you wear to the Crawl are ok to get ooey gooey and very dirty. The Zombie Crawl is sure to be a messy fun outdoor good time.

There will be a Frisbee Disk Golf Tournament sponsored by the World Travel Club on October 24th.  The cost will be $15.  Registration forms will be available in the office next week.

On Saturday, November 2nd Corwin World Travel Club will sponsor a Pancake Breakfast at the Southside Applebees from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.  Tickets will be available in the office starting next week.

The ARC fundraiser drive is coming the weekend of October 25th thru October 27th. Start saving items to donate to our fundraiser. A list of acceptable items will be sent home soon. Volunteer opportunities are also posted on Parent Booker. Help PTO make this fundraiser a huge success!!!
