Good evening.  This is Sulema James, Principal of Corwin International Magnet School, with your weekly announcements:

1.  Students! Join us Monday, June 5th, for Loco Locks and Crazy Socks (that's crazy hair and sock day)!  This is a free event for all students. Please be sure you are still in formal uniform.

2.  There will be an after school rehearsal for students performing Alice@Wonderland on Monday, June 5th from 3:30 to 5 in the auditorium. All cast must attend.

3.  Congratulations to our 5th graders who presented Exhibition projects on Thursday.  Our students reached out to the community in a variety of ways and demonstrated the Power of One.  Some of our students made donations to the Salvation Army, the Soup Kitchen and Christ Life Ministry while they learned about the reality of homelessness.  Many of our groups implemented plans to help animals and educate the community about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering your pets.  Other groups want us all to take better care of our environment and have organized campus cleanups and will be planting trees in our loop area this fall. Our Mission Mentor group is working to ease the transition for incoming 4th graders. These are just a few examples of the wonderful action pieces taking place in our community.  Thank you 5th graders for all of your hard work and for showing us the Power of One!

4.  This week we will have several performances for Drama. 8th grade drama students will perform on Monday for the PYP students at 9:00am and for the MYP students at 12:30pm.  All 8th grade drama students are expected to attend. On Tuesday, June 6th, at 9:00am, 6th grade Blue day will present, "Alice @Wonderland" for the MYP students. On Wednesday, June 7th, the 6th grade White day drama class will perform, "An American Tale" at 12:30pm in the auditorium. All students from these classes are expected to be present. Limited space is available for parents.

5.  Tuesday, June 6th, is PYP Field Day. Students should dress in appropriate attire for participation in physical activities.  Tuesday, June 6th, is also Yearbook signing day.  Parents, if your student didn't order a yearbook in advance, they may still have an opportunity. Extra yearbooks will be for sale for $30.00 the day of yearbook signing, June 6th. 8th grade students will be given the opportunity to purchase extra yearbooks first, then 7th, 6th, 5th, and 4th.

6.  Wednesday, June 7th is MYP Field Day.  Students should dress in appropriate attire for participation in physical activities.  Wednesday, June 7th, is also the 8th grade Continuum and Dance beginning at 6:00pm at East High School.

7.  Thursday, June 8th, is the final Awards Assembly for grades 4-7: 4th grade is at 8:00am, 6th grade is at 8:45am, 7th grade is at 9:30am, and 5th grade is at 10:15am.

8.  We will be having a Taffy's Sucker Sale here at the school until the end of the year or we run out!  They will be sold after school at the School Store as well as at both the East and West doors heading out to the buses. Each sucker will cost $1.00. All proceeds will benefit the School Store.

This concludes your announcements.  Thank you and have a great last week!
