Attention parents! We will be having one last meeting to prepare for the 8th grade end of year events. We will be meeting this Tuesday at 6:00 pm in room 128. We will finalize details for the dance and continuum and then we will finish putting together continuum booklets. Volunteers are still needed!

Parents don’t forget that on the last day of school, students will be released at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10th.  Buses will run according to the Friday afternoon schedule.

This Tuesday will be the final PTO meeting of the year.  Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome.  PTO attendance counts as double hours and for those who need hours this is a great opportunity.  For those who have your hours complete, you may count these hours toward next year.  We will be recognizing volunteers with exceptional service, and welcoming new parents who will be attending next year.  If you coordinate any aspect of a PTO fundraiser, please make every effort to attend.

We are the Champions!!! Congratulations to the Corwin International Varsity Soccer Team! They earned the Pueblo Middle School Soccer League Spring 2015 Championship last Saturday with a 1-0 win over Craver Middle School at Dutch Clark Stadium! The trophy and team photo will be on display in the school trophy case very soon! Way to go Cyclones!!!

Extra yearbooks have been ordered and will be available for purchase on annual signing day, June 9th. Weekly Update

This is a message from Corwin International Magnet School.
The March PTO meeting has been postponed for one week due to the Varsity Basketball City/ County Championship game.   Please join us for PTO on the second Tuesday of March at 6:30pm.  The PTO meeting  has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 10th at 6:30pm.

Due to the recent snow days, Corwin will begin state testing for 6th, 7th and 8th graders on Tuesday morning.    4th and 5th graders will be tested the following week.   This year, state testing will be done on computers and require students to use headphones.  The school has headphones for students to borrow,  but we especially encourage middle school students to bring their own headphones for comfort and for hygiene.  Please do not send blue tooth or expensive headphones. We  understand that testing can be stressful for students. Please help us keep kids relaxed with positive, encouraging words.

Parents of 8th graders.  Please make sure your child has returned the  form indicating the high school he or she will attend next year.  We need to get information ready for 8th graders transition including honors course placement.   These forms were due on Friday but now are due on Monday.

There will be a meeting on Thursday,  March 5th at 6 p.m. for  8th grade parents who would like to help with the 8th grade end of the year activities.  We need coordinators who will support these activities.

There will be a World Travel Club  meeting on Monday,  March 9th at 6p.m  for students traveling to Europe in March.  This will be our final meeting prior to travel.

Corwin International will be hosting a Health Awareness event on April 8th in recognition of World Health Day.   We have several community groups committed to on this day including the Pueblo County Health Department and other health professionals.  The event will take place in the afternoon on April 8th.

The International  Baccalaureate  World organization will be visiting Corwin on April 9th.  We are looking forward to hosting the visiting team.

Have a wonderful week.

Camp Invention will be offered at Fountain International July 13-17th for students in 1st through 5th grade. Students going to sixth grade next year are also invited! Receive a $25.00 discount if you sign up by March 20th. Go to www.campinvention.org for more information.

Attention all Dads: Corwin International will hold a Doughnuts with Dads Event on Wednesday, February 4 from 7:15am until 8am. We will present information about our Watch DOG program. If you will be attending, please RSVP with the flyer that was sent home with your student. T-shirts will be available to order, and interested fathers and father figures can sign up to volunteer for second semester.

Drama Club will resume this week, Please bring a jump drive and your printed scripts on Tuesday and Thursday.

If you or someone you know is interested in enrolling a new student at Corwin next year, the online enrollment window is open until February 12th.

Corwin staff is asking for parent support in regard to 5th and 4th graders after school.  No students should be left at school in order to wait for an evening activity.  We have had several fourth and fifth graders being left after school and attending athletic events without adult supervision.  PYP students should always have adult supervision at evening athletic events.  Students should be picked up within 15 minutes of their last school activity.  We appreciate your support with this important situation.

 Have a great week!
